Facebook removes “Comment” button, adds comment tagging

Today in puzzling Facebook changes sweeping the nation is across-the-board removal of the “Comment” button, which has been replaced with the “enter” key.

If you get email notification for Facebook comments, you might notice an increased amount of Facebook-centric activity in your inbox as other users adjust to the change. Multi-paragraph comments are still possible- shift+enter will add a break between paragraphs, but the practice will probably take a bit of time to get used to with a bit of premature pontification in the interim occurring.

The removal of the “Comment” button is just one of the comment-centric changes in the update. Before the button was axed, comments could not be edited. Now instead of deleting a comment you’ve made and re-posting it, you can change it after it goes live. (This could lead to some Facebook trolling.)

Also added is the ability to tag friends and things in your comments. Just like in status updates, typing @friend’s name as you’re commenting adds a tag, as seen in the screenshot below:

Have you adjusted to the changes? Do you think the new system in an improvement or an annoyance?
