Original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson will be joining cast-mates Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray in Paul Feig’s all-female 2016 reboot of the 1980s comedy franchise, ET Online is reporting .

The 69-year-old Hudson, who played fourth Ghostbuster Winston Zeddemore (the main trio being Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd as Raymond Stantz, and the late Harold Ramis as Egon Spengler) in the 1986 original and the 1989 sequel, was spotted in New York over the weekend, hanging out on the set along with leading ladies Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Kate McKinnon.

With Hudson now confirmed as making an appearance in the reboot, fans can now expect to see all three living original Ghostbusters in the reboot (Harold Ramis passed away in 2014 at age 69). It’s unclear how much screen time Ernie Hudson, or any of the original cast, will actually get, but since Hudson was only on the set for one day of filming — the last day — expect his screen time to be rather short.

Thanks to the great @Ernie_Hudson for joining us on our last day of production. He is a class act and an incredibly talented and funny man.

In July, Dan Aykroyd tweeted — in a tweet which he later deleted — that he was on the set of the new Ghostbusters and shooting some scenes with “my beautiful Kristen Wiig.” He described the all-female lead cast as “adorable, hilarious and bad**s.”

Ernie Hudson’s cameo appearance in the Ghostbusters reboot may be a surprise, considering that, in a 2014 interview with the Telegraph , Hudson expressed misgivings about the all-female cast .

“I heard it was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies. If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it Ghostbusters ? I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they’ll be funny, and if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that’s great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that.”

Obviously, something made Ernie change his mind.

Look for Ernie Hudson and the rest of the Ghostbusters , new and old, when the rebooted franchise hits theaters on July 15, 2016.
