On Friday, before sitting down with The Nice Guys ‘ Ryan Gosling, Ellen DeGeneres checked in with tWitch, her disc jockey, and asked if he’d seen the Beyoncé’s Lemonade video. DeGeneres was afraid her fans missed her cameo in the “Hold Up” video.
“Did you see me in it?” Ellen asked, telling him, “I’ve been given permission to show it — I hope she’s not mad.”

DeGeneres is known for inserting herself into major works in pop culture including The Titanic and the Harry Potter Series. It isn’t a surprise that Ellen spoofed Beyoncé’s Lemonade .
In the video, DeGeneres is sitting in a parked car on the side of the road talking to “Becky with the Good Hair.” In the original video that aired on HBO, the cars are vandalized by a smiling Beyoncé.

She tells Becky, “I think Queen Bey is cray cray!”
But as the singer begins toward DeGeneres’ car, she ends the call with, “Becky, I have to go. I’m gonna call you back, but I do love what you’re doing with your hair; it looks good.”
Soon, Beyoncé is smashing Ellen’s car as she attempts to distract her by yelling, “Look, there’s Becky with the good hair!”
But it’s Wanda Sykes who yells back, “What? Girl, I’m Wanda with the good weave,” before smashing the camera with a baseball bat of her own.
The original Lemonade video was released on April 23 via HBO before streaming on Tidal then later Amazon and iTunes. Days after its release, Beyoncé kicked off her Formation summer tour in Miami, Florida.
The release had social media buzzing about who Becky with the good hair is, with the hashtags #lemonade and #beckywiththegoodhair trending at the time. The lemon emoji surged through timelines and even some lemonade companies have seen an increase in sales as the Bey Hive rave over Beyoncé’s latest release.

Many fans and viewers of the Lemonade album reacted with shock, paralleling her music to rumors of infidelity in her marriage. Is Beyoncé confirming her husband’s infidelity? Or is it a Jedi mind trick as her father Mathew Knowles said in regard to the elevator fight? Critics are divided but the Bey Hive launched an attack on the alleged mistress, fashion designer Rachel Roy, who may or may not be “Becky with the Good Hair” mentioned in the lyrics.
Rachel Roy was among several celebrities to poke fun at the lyrics via social media. However, because of her history with the couple, it had an adverse effect. Rachel Roy addressed the cheating rumors in a statement to People Magazine.
“I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest. My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that. There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors.”
Other stars such as Rita Ora and Rachael Ray were also attacked by the Bey hive. In the aftermath of the initial drama behind “Becky with the Good Hair,” people are finding humor in it.
