Drew Barrymore and Ciara are both very pregnant, and the two glowing stars showed off their baby bumps at an event in Los Angeles promoting child safety.
The two expectant women met on the green carpet of Safe Kids Day in Los Angeles, an event to “raise funds and awareness for preventable childhood injuries,” which are a top killer in the United States. They shared a hug and posed for photos, though their baby bumps stole the show.
Drew Barrymore is pregnant with her second daughter with husband Will Kopelman, and looked glowing in a navy shirt and her hair pulled back into a ponytail. She and Ciara stopped to chat for a while and shared a few laughs.
It’s not clear what the two women talked about, but Drew may have shared some baby tips with the singer. Ciara is pregnant with her first child with rapper and fiance Future.
Ciara seemed excited about the event, tweeting:
“Excited About Joining Safe Kids 2 Day!! Together We Can Protect Kids, Prevent Injuries, and Save Lives”
Drew Barrymore was also happy to be at the event, and has spoken openly about how excited she is to expand her family again . Drew has a girl named Olive, who the actress said is excited to become an older sister.
“We just wanted so badly for Olive to have a sibling,” said Drew. “In some ways, it’s really for her. So congratulations, Olive!”
Barrymore has talked about giving her daughters a different upbringing than she had as an only child.
“I was an only child, and it was lonely,” Drew said. “Some people love it and thrive on the independence, but I want my kids to have other kids around. Maybe two kids so they can run around together, roll their eyes at their parents together like Rusty and Audrey Griswold from [National Lampoon’s] Vacation. So however that’s going to come about, it’s gonna happen.”
Drew has been spending a lot of time with her famous friends during the pregnancy. Before the outing with Ciara, she hit up the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley along with Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon. The stars met in March for a two-day pasta making course.
