Dr. Dre has made a sensational announcement on his Apple Music Beats 1 radio show. Dr. Dre may have been trying to blow his listeners minds on his The Pharmacy radio show. According to Rolling Stone , Dre was chatting with his longtime collaborator , Snoop Dogg, when he revealed that perhaps Compton wasn’t his swansong after all. Dr. Dre has previously told Rolling Stone that Compton was his grand finale , but it seems that Dre hasn’t called time on his music career just yet.

During his interview with Snoop, Dr. Dre revealed that he would really like to tour Europe. Nothing unusual in that, but it seems that Dre wants to take Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar along for the ride. Maybe Dre would like to reform NWA at the same time?

According to Pitchfork, Dre would love to pull together a hip-hop tour that would surely be the ultimate gathering of the masters of the genre. Dr. Dre said that it would be “a dream” to pull together that line-up of hip-hop luminaries and take the tour across Europe. If Dre managed to pull it off, he said that the tour would be a full production affair and would be called “ Beats & Rhymes.”

“This is one of the things that I dreamed about doing. I want to call it Beats & Rhymes. I want it to be me and Snoop. I want it to be Eminem. I want it to be Kendrick Lamar. Do a tour over in Europe and call it Beats & Rhymes and take our full production over there and take our full stage over there and really go over there and show Europe the same amount of love that they been showing me throughout my entire career. So, that’s my dream. Hopefully we can make that happen.”

If Dr. Dre could make this tour happen, it would surely be something that any music fan would want to see. A lineup like that would excite even people who are not fans of hip-hop. There can be no doubt that Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar are legends of the hip-hop world.

Even Snoop Dogg was taken aback by the size of Dr. Dre’s ambition for the tour. Snoop said that Dr. Dre’s suggestion sounded like “Woodstock on steroids,” and suggested that rather than it being called “Beats & Rhymes,” it would be more aptly named “Hoodstock.”

NME suggests that Dr. Dre’s “dream” could become reality, and points out that Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar all made guest contributions to Dr. Dre’s Compton soundtrack album. NME also reports that Dr. Dre also commented that even after 30 years in the music business, he has never been able to take a full production show to Europe.

Dr. Dre says that he has done shows in Europe with Eminem and with Snoop Dogg, “but it’s just been like spot dates and like taking a microphone over there with a DJ.”

“I never had the opportunity to take the full production over there, and take my full body of ideas over there and present it to all the people over there in Europe.”

Music Times state that it is “remarkable” that an artist who has enjoyed such a remarkable career as Dr. Dre still has unfulfilled ambitions on this scale. Dr. Dre is, of course, one of the most wealthy musicians on the planet. Dre’s sale of his “Beats” headphone company to Apple netted a cool $3.2 billion, so it is unlikely that money is the motivator for his proposed tour.

If Dr. Dre can make the tour happen, it would surely represent one of the most incredible coups that the music business has ever seen. Lets hope European music promoters listen to Dr. Dre’s radio show and make it happen.
