We’ve all heard of crazy soda flavors from around the world including salty watermelon, black garlic, tree bark, and white fungus. Are we ready for another one?
Reddit user joes_nipples posted an image of a Mountain Dew tasting table where they were giving away samples of a new flavor called Dewitos, which is Doritos flavored Mountain Dew. The first sighting of the Dewitos tasting table was at Ohio State University in October, but another user, Bridgette Parkins, tweeted that Dewitos was at Kansas State University as well, Time reports.
Some people online thought that the images were just a hoax, but apparently they’re not. A PepsiCo spokesperson confirmed the new flavor to Time , and said that they’re in the testing phase .
“We are always testing out new flavors of Mountain Dew, and giving our fans a voice in helping decide on the next new product has always been important to us. We opened up the DEW flavor vault and gave students a chance to try this Doritos-inspired flavor as part of a small program at colleges and universities.”
The Reddit user who posted the image also said that Mountain Dew is testing other flavors including rainbow sherbet, mango habanero, and lemon ginger.
Soda drinkers took to Twitter to show their distaste and disbelief of the new soda flavor.
I’ve had some pretty weird sodas, turkey, green bean & gravy to name a few, but I don’t think I’m going to try nacho #Dewitos soda.

Based on these tweets, it seems that the general population is not too keen on gulping down the Doritos-flavored Mountain Dew . There’s no official word if the Dewitos will be hitting shelves soon.
