Donald Trump has proven time and again that he is not great with criticisms or being asked the right questions. Anyone who dares to cross the President while asking for valid and logical answers often gets bashed. This especially applies to journalists who always make sure to ask Trump the questions he absolutely does not want to answer.
Something similar happened on the day of the new flagpoles being installed on The White House lawn. Trump himself was overseeing the process as he had previously mentioned that he would fund the poles personally.
Naturally, the press was there and Trump also said that those poles were apparently the best in the world while standing with the crew who were handling the installation process. While Trump was fairly happy with the way things were going, it took a turn when CNN White House correspondent Alayna Treene proceeded to ask him a question.
Treene’s question to Trump was about the division that MAGA supporters are witnessing amongst themselves about America’s involvement in the Iran-Israel situation. Treene asked the President, “Mr. President, some of your supporters are splitting on the U.S. response to…,” However, Trump did not let her finish and cut her off, asked, “Who are you with?”
When she replied that she was with CNN, Trump dismissed her, saying, “Fortunately nobody watches” the channel also said that it spreads “fake news.” When Treene tried to repeat the question, Trump said, “Is anybody watching CNN nowadays? I haven’t seen it in a long time.”
However, Treene appeared to be relentless and finally put forward her question as she asked Trump, “So some of your supporters are wary of the U.S. getting involved in another foreign war, and some believe that we should support it.”

Trump, however, did not admit to knowing about any such thing and said, “Do you ever ask a positive question at CNN? My supporters are more in love with me today, and I’m in love with them, more than they were even at election time.”
Since he did not want to answer, Trump conveniently changed the topic and commented on CNN instead. However, it is quite well known that the MAGA base, including the ones at the top, are not really on board with Trump’s idea of meddling with the Iran-Israeli conflict.

Despite Trump’s long term advisors advising against it, Trump has been actively involved in the situation and also mentioned that he was aware of the fact that Tehran was going to be bombed even before it happened.
Recently, JD Vance posted on X to show his support for Trump where he mentioned that whatever the President did, it was done while keeping America’s safety in mind. However, despite Vance’s post, MAGA views on Trump’s involvement in the Iran-Israel war remains conflicted.
