Dog Whisperer host Cesar Millan must pay his ex-wife, Ilusión, a single payment of $400,000, another $10,000 a month for child support, and an additional $23,000 a month in spousal payment. With a whopping $33,000 a month in payments to his ex-wife for child support and spousal payment, the National Geographic Channel’s Dog Whisperer host well be missing a sizable portion of the $170,000 a month that TMZ reports he makes according to his filed divorce documents.
In regards to his recent divorce, Cesar’s website posted a statement on Friday which read:
“We are sad to announce that after 16 years of marriage we have decided to file for divorce. The decision was made after much consideration and time. We remain caring friends, and are fully committed to the co-parenting of our two boys.”
Ilusion Millan cited irreconcilable differences as she filed for divorce in a Los Angeles court on Friday. People.com reports that she is seeking primary physical custody of the children and their father Cesar will be allowed visitation rights as well as spousal support.
Cesar, who currently makes over $2 million a year, famously came to the United States as a young man from Mexico with a mere $100 in his pocket and an unusual dream of becoming a famous dog trainer. With his long-running television series Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel, several best-selling books, and famous clients including Jada Pinkett Smith, Millan has quite obviously achieved his dream of becoming a reputable and successful canine trainer. His show has millions of viewers and is broadcast in more than 80 countries.
