Square Enix and Eidos Montréal have confirmed there will be a Collector’s Edition for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided . It is not yet available for pre-order, though, because what it will contain is still being decided — by the fans. In the spirit of the role-playing game element of player choice that the Deus Ex franchise is well-known for, players everywhere can visit www.deusex.com/micro/vote to vote for the top three items they want to see make it into the Collector’s Edition.
The two “standout” items, if you will, are the Adam Jensen replica statue and the replica Combat Rifle. For statue collectors, Adam Jensen could potentially look great next to a number of serious-looking gaming characters including Arkham Knight ‘s Batman statue or Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’s Jacob Crossroads figure. Players who geek out over the weaponry in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided might find that detailed weapon replica hard to pass up. Yet, both items are likely to drive the price up of the Collector’s Edition, particularly if both are included in the final collection. The Adam Jensen mini-bust or set of four mini-replica weapons might be more appealing for the space-conscious fan trying to keep the Collector’s Edition within a reasonable price range.
Other potential items available to vote for are the obligatory collectible Steelbook game case, a 40-page mini art book, a distinctive Deux Ex Universe pin set, an augmented arm tattoo sleeve, a Praxis Kit lunch box and a metal “Welcome to Golem City” sign.
Perhaps one of the most noticeable options missing from the slew of typical Collector’s Edition fare is a physical or digital copy of the official game soundtrack. Composer Micheal Mann returns to craft the score for Mankind Divided and, as can be heard in the announcement trailer , the layered, techno-thriller beats that charmed critics of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution score are back and better than ever. Although, if the entire original soundtrack is planned to eventually wind up streaming on SoundCloud , as is the case for the Human Revolution soundtrack, it is possible fans may be better served with another collectible, anyway.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided does not yet have an official release date; however, per the Square Enix E3 Conference , it is expected to release early in 2016.
