Today marks the first day of the NBA free agency signing period, and as we’ve seen, a number of players have already received large contracts. According to ESPN , Anthony Davis re-signed with the New Orleans Pelicans for 5 years and $145 million, Goran Dragic re-signed with the Miami Heat for 5 years and $90 million, and Kawhi Leonard re-signed with the San Antonio Spurs for 5 years and $90 million.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, the New York Knicks were one of the teams rumored to land Atlanta Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll. However, Carroll has opted to head up north to Canada, where he signed a 4-year, $60 million contract with the Toronto Raptors.
Last season with the Hawks, Carroll averaged 12.6 points per game, to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Over six seasons in the NBA, DeMarre, a former first round pick of the Memphis Grizzlies, has put up 7.6 points per game, 3.7 boards, and 1.2 assists.

In other NBA free agency news as of 2 p.m. EST, Danny Green has agreed to return to the Spurs on a four-year, $45 million deal. Mike Dunleavy is staying in Chicago for three more years at $15 million. Paul Millsap has been offered a four-year, $80 million contract by the Orlando Magic, and he will decide to either stay with the Hawks or join the Magic.
