David Bowie: ‘No Plans’ For A Live Show

David Bowie has “no plans” for a live concert, despite numerous rumors. With the release of a new album, and an art exhibition, fans were hoping for at least one live show. However, Bowie’s representatives deny the rumors.

The rumors started with a report that Live Nation offered Bowie millions for a live performance at the Olympic Park. Other reports mentioned a similar offer from AEG for a show at Hyde Park.

Fans were thrilled, as Bowie has not appeared on stage in seven years.

As reported by NME , the rumors are false. Representatives responded to the rumors, stating that “there are currently no plans for any live dates.”

Several sources have hinted that David Bowie may appear on stage in 2014. Michael Eavis suggested that he would love to have Bowie headline at Glastonbury. He explains that Bowie headlined in 1971 and 2000.

Eavis contends that “David’s done it a couple of times before, but I’m sure he could come back again.”

As reported by Billboard , Bowie’s latest album The Next Day debuted at the top of the charts.The much anticipated album remained at the top of the charts , and is expected to receive numerous award nominations.

In addition to the album, the David Bowie Is exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum has been touted as a “runway hit.” More than 40,000 advance tickets were purchased for the exhibition.

With this year’s album and exhibition, it would be the perfect time for Bowie to return to the stage. However, his representatives contend that it is not part of the plan.

Bowie guitarist Earl Slick confirms that despite the anticipation, there are no live dates scheduled or planned.

David Bowie may not perform live anytime soon. However, fans have enjoyed his new album and the fascinating exhibition. The exhibition in London has ended. However, It will debut in Toronto on September 25.
