“Cristiano Ronaldo is the perfect footballer”, those are the words of Mario Balotelli, a man that has not always been gracious and many have called unprofessional.
The AC Milan Forward is expressing his admiration for the Portuguese striker, after Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or in a tight contest with nemesis Lionel Messi and Frenchman Franck Ribéry.
Mario Balotelli has always been a controversial player, no matter what he says or does, people will always find something they don’t like about his words.
Recently, while attending a Puma boots launching event, Balotelli was asked to comment about recent Ballon d’Or winner Real Madrid star.
Turns out, the AC Milan player has a very high opinion about Cristiano Ronaldo and said that he more than deserved to win the trophy because he is very professional and sets an example for all players and he is also “sheer perfection as a footballer.”
Both players could face each other as Real Madrid and AC Milan have qualified for the UEFA Champions League last 16 stage.
Even though they share a love and passion for the sport, Balotelli and Ronaldo couldn’t be more different in their approach.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the consummate professional, with strict training and personal behavior standards. In contrast, Mario Balotelli is a flamboyant player, who can throw a party the night before an important match.
The Portuguese star is dedicated to be the best in the world and as such spends much of his time trying to improve his skills, rather than going to a party.
The 23-year-old’s remarks don’t meant that he won’t do everything in his power to return Italy to the top of the sport in the upcoming World Cup in Brazil, where it qualified in group D against Uruguay, Sweden, and Costa Rica.
Balotelli recently completed an impressive 26-penalty kick streak and has been on a scoring streak as well, scoring four goals in the last four AC Milan games.
This has been Cristiano Ronaldo’s year and after winning the title of best player in soccer, nothing would be better than bringing the FIFA World Cup trophy to Portugal for the first time.
After the Portuguese captain was presented with the honorary “Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Harry” by Portugal’s President, Ronaldo talked about his wish to bring the award to his people.
“It would be a dream come true. I do not want to downplay the titles I have won up until now, like this honor or the Ballon d’Or, but it would be a dream come true. We know that it is very hard and that we have to keep our feet on the ground. We will try to do our best and take it one step at a time.”
Cristiano Ronald helped Portugal to qualify for Brazil in Group G , the so-called “Death Group”, which includes USA, Germany, and Ghana. Portugal and Germany are the logical choices to advance, but nothing is written in stone until game time.
