Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale work in unison to give Real Madrid a chance every time they take the field, and apparently, the relationship is more than just professional. In a recent interview, the Welshman said that his teammate is a “great man” off the field and people misunderstand him.
Ronaldo is one of those controversial players that fans either love or hate. Despite his obvious talent as a player, he is flashy, seemingly self-centered, and apparently more worried about his looks than his game.
However, anyone that follows him closely realizes the man is fully dedicated to being the best at what he does and the 2014-2015 season has been a success, even though Real Madrid failed to win La Liga.
During the interview with BT Sport, Bale — who came to Real from the Premier League club Tottenham for a record $136.5 million — credits Cristiano Ronaldo with helping him adapt to a new league and making him feel welcome in Madrid. He says the Portuguese star has an “absolutely amazing attitude.”
Bale doesn’t stop there. He openly sings Ronaldo’s praises, saying that Cristiano has taken him under his wing, not only on the field:
“I think since the first step that I made into Real Madrid he’s been absolutely amazing with me. He’s given me advice on and off the pitch, with football matters and he’s given me advice where to live and stuff like that.
“He is such a nice guy, so helpful, always wants the best for the team and obviously people write things about him but people who actually know him know exactly what he is like and he’s a great man and a great footballer as well.”

It is obvious that Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammate Gareth Bale respect and like each other. This season, due to Ronaldo’s injuries, Bale has had to step in his shoes and has proven to be a reliable go-to man for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Now, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are focused on winning the UEFA Champions League final and claiming “la decima” — the 10th title for “Los Blancos” — completing an extremely successful international campaign for one of the best football clubs in the world.
