Conquering Chaos has just hit stores, and already, the tell-all book of Teen Mom stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra is making headlines.
On March 2, Radar Online released a report which claimed Baltierra and Lowell’s book, Conquering Chaos , reveals shocking details from their past . In the book, Lowell and Baltierra admitted to witnessing drug-related gun fights, ecstasy and cocaine use and more.
“At home it was all parties and drinking. My mom had a different boyfriend every few months, and people were always over at the house partying and playing music loud,” Lowell wrote in Conquering Chaos .
Lowell’s mother, April Baltierra, had a nasty drug habit and would often pass out while under the influence.
“I’d have to put pillows under her head and make sure she was okay, then take care of my brother and sister. It was just never stable at all.”
During one instance, Lowell criticized one of her mother’s boyfriends, who was high on crack, for not helping their family move. In response, the man attacked Lowell, throwing her to the ground and choking her.
Baltierra’s home environment was just as unstable, and as he revealed in Conquering Chaos, he first tried drugs at the age of 8.
“One day we came across one of my uncle’s bags of weed. We basically knew what it was, but we didn’t know what to do with it…so we just kind of stuck it on top and burned it.”
In the years that followed, the authors of Conquering Chaos tried just about anything they could get their hands on, including pot, cough syrup and pills.
Eventually, their bad decisions caught up with them, and Baltierra found himself on the floor with foam coming out of his mouth.
“[Friends] said I started having a seizure and shaking around on the ground, that my eyes rolled back in my head. I even pissed myself. I was so freaked out I had to leave.”
A similar situation happened to Lowell, who found herself lying on her back in the middle of a street after huffing an air duster.
As fans have seen on 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom , Lowell and Baltierra’s unhealthy home environments were the main reason they decided to give their first child, Carly, up for adoption in 2009. Although the pair struggled with the decision, they knew their daughter would struggle if she was brought into either of their homes, and chose to do what they felt was best for her by giving her a chance at a better life.
As the Inquisitr reported, the Conquering Chaos authors have come along way since their teens, and they are now parents to a second daughter , Novalee Reign. They also have their own home and are planning to tie the knot on August 22.
