Christine McVie wants to reunite with Fleetwood Mac, and for fans of the band it couldn’t be more perfect fit.
The longtime band member is fresh off a successful stint with the group in Europe, which could lead to a long-awaited reunion.
In September, McVie joined her bandmates at a concert in London, sharing the stage with them for the first time in 15 years.
Now McVie wants to make it permanent .
“I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them,” McVie told The Guardian . “I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted… but it hasn’t happened so we’ll have to wait and see.”
McVie said her successful return to the band in London played a big part of her decision.
“It was amazing, like I’d never left,” she said. “I climbed back on there again and there they were, the same old faces on stage.”
Christine McVie was a member of Fleetwood Mac for close to 30 years, writing many of the band’s hits including “Don’t Stop,” “Say You Love Me,” and “You Make Loving Fun.” She left the group in 1998, retiring from the band just after its induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“I think I was just music’d out,” McVie said. “I suffered from some kind of delusion that I wanted to be an English country girl, a Sloane Ranger or something… and it took me 15 years to realise that it’s not really what I wanted at all.”
Fans are already excited about the possibility of her return.

If Christine McVie does return to Fleetwood Mac, it’s unclear when the return could happen. After its European tour ended this year, the band announced that founding member John McVie had cancer . The band canceled 14 in Australia and New Zealand while he sought treatment.
McVie was one of the original members of the band when it formed in 1967. John met Christine McVie when she was keyboardist for the band Chicken Shack, asking her to join Fleetwood Mac. They married but later divorced.
The two seem to be on good terms now. Christine McVie said that John is seeking treatment for his cancer in Los Angeles, saying that doctors “caught it really early so he should be up and running in a couple of months.”
