Chris Brown’s Probation Should Be Revoked, City Attorney Says [Confirmed]

UPDATE: Chris Brown’s probation has been revoked. A Los Angeles County Court judge granted the City Attorney’s filing earlier today to revoke Brown’s probation.

According to E Online and other entertainment sources, he will be allowed to remain free on his own recognizance until the next probation violation hearing on August 16. If the two sides have not reached an agreement by then, the judge will then set the actual probation hearing.

ORIGINAL REPORT

Chris Brown’s probation may be revoked at the request of the Los Angeles District Attorney that the office filed on Monday.

As I reported in late June, Chris Brown was scheduled to be in court today for his arraignment on two misdemeanor hit-and-run charges related to an extremely minor accident that occurred earlier in May.

There was a fair amount of “he said, she said” with this accident. At one point after he was charged, Brown even tweeted a picture of what he said was the car he supposedly hit, showing that the amount of damage was so minor that it could even be considered non-existent.

But Olga Gure-Kovalenko, the woman he rear-ended, said that he was a scary guy with tattoos who refused to give her the proper paperwork — which ultimately resulted in the Los Angeles City Attorney charging him with two misdemeanors in connection with the case.

As it turned out, the arraignment proved to be an anticlimax. According to E Online , it’s possible that there will be a settlement between Brown and the accident victim. The judge changed the arraignment date to July 23, and it seems plausible that the charges could be dropped if he can settle with her by then.

TMZ is reporting that their source said that the victim’s lawyer will testify this afternoon that they don’t want Chris Brown prosecuted or jailed as a result of the very minor fender-bender.

Unfortunately for Brown, the City Attorney can choose to go ahead with the probation revocation request, whether or not the singer is ever actually arraigned for the accident charges.

Chris Brown’s probation hearing had him worried, judging from his tweets reaching out to fans for support.

Love you Team Breezy. I hope people can actually see the truth.

If the judge finds that Chris Brown violated his probation, he could reportedly be jailed for as much as four years.

Brown has reportedly just arrived in court. When we get the results of the Chris Brown probation hearing, we’ll let you know.

UPDATE: Here is Chris Brown’s first reaction tweet after getting the bad news that his probation has been revoked:

My cross is heavy but God gives me the strength to carry it.
