Chris Brown’s hit-and-run accident recently (with on again, off again girl Karrueche Tran as a passenger) may be more than an auto body shop headache for the singer — and due to his legal status, Brown could wind up in jail after the fender bender.
As The Inquisitr reported on May 22, Chris Brown’s hit-and-run collision in Los Angeles was, upon first glance, a minor traffic incident with no injuries. Our earlier post on Brown’s accident in L.A. quoted a rep for the star, who claimed that paparazzi on scene precipitated the crash, saying at the time:
“The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached [Chris’] vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles. Chris’ vehicle was totaled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi.”
Now TMZ explains that while Chris Brown’s fender bender was a hassle at the time, it may prove to be an even worse problem for the singer — who is still on probation for the incident in which he attacked Rihanna back in 2009.
The site reports :
“What could have been a simple fender bender earlier this week is now a full-blown hit-and-run investigation … after Chris Brown allegedly refused to give the driver he rear-ended his driver’s license #. We’re told he also gave the woman incorrect insurance info … What’s more … we’re now told Chris copped an attitude when the woman pressed him for his ID, before refusing to ante up his DL.”
While the prospect of Chris Brown going to prison after the fender bender seems speculative as of now, TMZ says that if Brown is guilty of “leaving the scene without fully disclosing information required by law” to the other driver, he could be jailed.
