Renée Zellweger as Bridget Jones is back and shots from the set offer fans their first glimpse of the actress as one of her most famous characters.
On Friday, Working Title offered a sneak peek at Bridget Jones’s Baby by releasing the first still of star Renée Zellweger reprising her role as the beloved British character.
The photo shows Bridget Jones hugging an iPad , which as Vanity Fair points out, indicates that the publishing executive has moved on from a hard cover diary into a tracking her every thought via a digital diary.

Just last week, Zellweger’s new co-star Patrick Dempsey took to Instagram to share a photo from Pinewood Studios in the U.K., where the Grey’s Anatomy alum was rehearsing with Zellweger and Colin Firth, who plays Mark Darcy.

Dempsey reportedly took over for Hugh Grant after the actor made it perfectly clear he was not interested in re-joining the original cast.

According to The Telegraph , Friday was the first day of filming on the new movie based on the Helen Fielding characters. Directed by Sharon Maguire, who brought the world the first film in the series, Bridget Jones’s Baby will be based on Fielding’s columns and not her latest novel, Mad About the Boy , which apparently killed off Firth’s character.
