Two Chattanooga shootings have shut down large parts of the Tennessee city, but so far, police say there is no indication that the events are part of a terrorist attack.
The first shooting took place Thursday at a Naval Reserve Center near Tennessee Riverpark. Reports indicated that an officer and two Marines were shot.
Witnesses said they saw a man with a high-powered rifle, and CNN shared pictures of a glass door with several bullet holes.
The incident led to lockdowns at Chattanooga State Community College and Erlanger Hospital, which are close to the site of the shooting, Reuters reported.
There was another shooting reported in Chattanooga. Authorities said one person was shot in the leg, but did not say if the incident were connected.
The Chattanooga shootings raised terrorism fears among many residents, who went online to voice their fear.

But so far, police said there is no indication that the Chattanooga shootings were at all terrorist-related.

The Times Free Press reported reported that police are searching near the naval base for the shooting suspect.
“This is a very, very terrible situation,” Andy Berke, the city’s mayor told reporters. “I’m very concerned about what’s going on. We need to figure out how to handle it.”
Many details of the Chattanooga shootings remain light. As of Thursday at 1 p.m., there was no word on the condition of the wounded and whether police have identified a suspect.
Local reports from Chattanooga said there are scores of police at the site of the shooting, and five ambulances.
The Chattanooga shootings come two weeks after what may have been a false alarm on another military base. On July 2, reports indicated that there gunshots in the D.C. Navy Yard. The location was put on lockdown, but police were not able to uncover any signs of an attack.
