Khristianne Uy, personal chef to Charlie Sheen, has won the first season of ABC’s cooking competition series, The Taste .
On Tuesday’s season finale, Uy was presented with a trophy, 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid , and a $100,000 cash prize. She beat fellow finalists Diane DiMeo, Gregg Drusinsky, and Sarah Schiear to win the competition, which features amateur and professional cooks putting together a three-course meal for four judges, who will decide which dish they like after just one taste. The contestant with the worst bite is eliminated from the competition.
Uy’s winning meal consisted of Peking duck confit as her first dish, seafood bouillabaisse for the second course, and root beer-braised ginger short ribs for the final course. The 31-year-old was the sole Los Angeleno in the final four; her three competitors are all from New York.
“We are absolutely thrilled for Khristianne Uy, and wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” said Chris Coelen, executive producer of the series. “She was a real competitor this season and was certainly entertaining to watch each and every week. We’re happy to call her the first winner of The Taste .”
Brian Malarkey , Uy’s mentor, said, “The fact of the matter is she just dominated the entire competition. She was always in the top, bar-none just the best in the competition — just really really proud of her and everything she’s done.”
Sheen tweeted his support of his private chef prior to the finale. He wrote:

Khristianne Uy not only works for Sheen, but also cooks for James Cameron , American Idol creator Simon Fuller, and the royal family of Saudi Arabia.
