In the throwback photo from when she was a toddler, Cassidy is posed on the shoulders of her dad. Cassidy Gifford captioned the tribute with a touching and emotional message.
Frank Gifford, a former New York Giants player and NFL Hall of Famer, passed away at his Connecticut home on Sunday. Gifford was 84 years old, reports HNGN .

Daughter Cassidy’s emotional Instagram tribute touched friends and fans as she poured out her grief in memories of her dad. “Very few people are blessed enough to call their father a legend, and an even smaller number are able to share that notion with the rest of the world,” Cassidy wrote about her dad . She continued her tribute with, “Today of all days I can genuinely say I am humbled by the outpour of love and support my family has received.”
According to Entertainment Tonight , Cassidy continued, “Yesterday, I lost my best friend. His kindness was infectious, and his grace, beyond compare. And despite the worldly passing of an incredible man, I undoubtedly know heaven gained one stud of an angel. Philippians 4:13 has never rung so true.. You were an unparalleled Giant in all sense of the word, Dad.. So keep doin’ you up there, because no one does it better, and no one ever will.”
Gifford is survived by his daughter Cassidy, son Cody, and wife Kathie Lee Gifford. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , both Kathie Lee and Cassidy Gifford have been finding comfort in the same bible verse that Cassidy used in her Instagram tribute to her dad.
The death of Frank Gifford has touched Kathie Lee’s Today co-hosts. Earlier Monday, co-host Hoda Kotb was visibly grief-stricken during an episode as she talked about her love for Frank Gifford. “He will be remembered with love,” Hoda said, according to Entertainment Tonigh t , paying her own tribute to Cassidy’s dad by mentioning she is “grateful” to have known him.
Hoda also mentioned that Kathie Lee was holding up well after losing her husband, and that Gifford’s family is “rejoicing in his life.” Hoda told fans, “She said, ‘Let me tell you what a tragedy is. You know those little kids in the truly brave videos, some of the kids who didn’t make it? That’s a tragedy. Let me tell you about Frank Gifford.’ She said Frank Gifford was a Hall of Famer, an incredible football broadcasting legend, and more than all that, he was a family man. He is a triumph. He got to live to almost 85-years-old,” echoing the tribute Cassidy posted about her dad.
