Casper Van Dien, of S tarship Troopers fame, has filed for divorce from his actress wife, Catherine Oxenburg, reports TMZ . Van Dien filed in a Los Angeles court this week, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Casper, who famously portrayed Johnny Rico in 1997’s Starship Troopers and again in 2008 in Starship Troopers 3, met his soon-to-be ex-wife on the set of the made-for-television movie, The Collectors , in 1999, reports the Daily Mail . Van Dien and Catherine then worked together on the Christian thriller, The Omega Code .

Casper and Oxenburg married in 1999 after completing work on The Omega Code , and have two children together, 14-year-old Amanda and 11-year-old Celeste, reports the Daily Mail. According to TMZ , Van Dien has requested joint physical and legal custody of the two girls.
TMZ also reports that neither Van Dien nor Oxenburg are requesting spousal support, citing that Casper does not want to pay Catherine any alimony, and is hoping for a clean break.

Oxenburg is a famous actress in her own right, according to the Daily Mail , having had a leading role in the ABC cult classic nighttime soap opera Dynasty in the 1980s, in which she starred as Amanda Carrington. She is also reportedly a legitimate princess, being the daughter of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, a country that no longer exists.
The divorce between Casper Van Dien and Catherine Oxenburg marks the second divorce for each actor. According to the Daily Mail, Catherine was married to producer and studio head Robert Evans for nine days before the marriage was annulled for unknown reasons.
The Daily Mail also reports that Casper was married from 1993 to 1997 to Carrie Mitchum, daughter of legendary actor Robert Mitchum. With Carrie, Van Dien has two daughters, Casper Robert Van Dien III and Caroline Dorothy Grace “Gracie” Van Dien, and Casper has full custody of those two children.
In 2005, both Casper and Catherine starred in a reality show on Lifetime entitled I Married a Princess , but the series only ran for one season before it was cancelled. Recently, according to the Daily Mail , the pair starred in a couple of Syfy Network films, such as Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf .

Casper has also begun directing television movies, most recently Patient Killer, which aired on the Lifetime network in July. Van announced the show on his Instagram account, sharing a close up selfie, and captioning the snap with the details about when his followers can see the made for television movie.
The New York Daily News tried reaching a rep for Casper Van Dien, but was not issued a comment on the divorce.
