Carrie Prejean’s house is sold, but the former Miss USA and her former NFL husband are taking a bit of a loss for it.
The sprawling 4,322 square-foot San Diego mansion was purchased in 2008 for $2.55 million by Kyle Boller, back when he was an NFL regular. In the time since then he met and married erstwhile Miss USA Carrie Prejean, who was famous for her views against gay marriage.
In July Boller retired from the NFL just one day after signing with the San Diego Chargers, which ESPN.com noted came as somewhat of a surprise to coach Norv Turner.
Boller and Prejean met in 2010 and got engaged later that year. She was later added to the deed of the home.
The couple remained in Carrie Prejean’s house for two years before deciding to move out, TMZ.com reported . But when it came time to sell, the market didn’t agree so well with the couple.
The four-bedroom, four-bath house was originally listed for $3.55 million but sold for only $2.35 million, about $200,000 less than what Kyle paid for the house.
The Carrie Prejean house would be quite a steal for the wealthy homeowner. As UT-San Diego notes , it has been described as “a jewel nested in the hills of Del Mar.”
The listing for the Carrie Prejean house, which was canceled after a few months on the market, read: “Surrounded by lush landscape, ocean and golf course views, mature palms and flowering trees, this custom estate is nestled on over an acre with fully gated drive.
Records show that the buyer of the Carrie Prejean house is Bill Miller, trustee of the Bill Miller Revocable Trust.
