Caroline Wozniacki is currently preparing for her first-round match at Wimbledon on Monday, but she’s also speaking out about her relationship with boyfriend and pro golfer Rory McIlroy . The Danish tennis player is ranked No. 9 overall in the world after holding down the No. 1 spot on two separate occasions.
She has a long road ahead if she hopes to hoist the trophy at Wimbledon and she’s hoping her boyfriend will be able to show his support in the second round, assuming she beats Estrella Cabeza Candela in her first match. In the meantime, she recently spoke to the Guardian about dating the Irish golfer.
“Golf and tennis follow the sun; we go around the world to pretty similar places. It’s not easy, but we make it work,” Wozniacki told the Guardian . “When you know, you know.”
The couple is very supportive of each other as McIlroy is always on-hand at her matches and she has also been seen walking the golf course as Rory tees-off on each hole.
Caroline Wozniacki could use the support as she takes on Wimbledon and McIlroy will more than likely make an appearance. She went on to add that their busy schedules haven’t kept them from each other no matter how far apart they are.
“I think what Rory and I have is very special. He’s trying to work it out with his schedule, I’m trying to go and see him when I can, so in that way it’s been working out well so far,” she added. “We speak every day but we never have a set time where we have to speak. We just do it because we want to.”
Is this a sports match made in heaven? The average sports couple has its ups and downs and certainly its run-ins with the media, but this power duo has kept particularly quiet and are regularly seen holding hands with a smile.
