Miley Cyrus is known for her less-than-conventional on-stage musical performances. However, one of her most infamous shows took place at MTV’s Video Music Awards, which featured a giant foam finger. The video went viral on its own, but one YouTube user took the video to a whole new level by including Captain Kirk’s reaction to the eye-popping performance.
The video starts with a seemingly normal Star Trek setting. However, things quickly get weird for the USS Enterprise crew when Miley Cyrus (and her foam finger) appear on their screen. The reaction from Kirk and the rest of the crew is pretty much what most of America was feeling when they saw the live television performance.
When the crew had enough of the visual overload, they decided to take drastic measures.
“Try another channel, Lt. Uhura. Set Phasers to overkill, Mr. Chekov.”
Though the video was uploaded last year, it has seen a sudden spike in social media shares. Most likely the interest in Miley Cyrus has increased due to recent rumors surrounding her possible pregnancy with boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger and possible admission to rehab. Regardless of the reasoning behind the surge in viewers, the video has been seen over 4.8 million times. That is a lot of Miley!
