Caitlyn Jenner could find herself guest starring on Transparent . According to Us Weekly , cast members like Gaby Hoffman and Jay Duplass talked about Caitlyn’s transition at Monday night’s FYC event at West Hollywood’s Directors Guild of America Theater.
“I saw the photos and my thoughts were that she looks gorgeous and so, so, so, so happy, which is why she looks so gorgeous, and I just felt so happy for her and I find the whole thing incredibly moving. I’m just so happy for Caitlyn that she is having this experience in such a supportive and loving environment. I hope that Caitlyn’s coming out, that Caitlyn’s transition into becoming who she wants to be, will elicit compassion and understanding and generosity in everybody’s hearts and minds, which I think is the point of everything we’re doing and what everyone needs to do for the world to become the better place it should be,” said Hoffman.
Caitlyn Jenner has a lot of fans on Transparent , and everyone had wonderful things to say about her, and about her debut. The show has brought transgender issues front and center in what many call a brilliant series. The show follows Maura Pfefferman (played by actor Jeffrey Tambor), a father of three who transitions to a woman.
“My reaction to the photos today was that she looked gorgeous. Just in general, excitement that she was able to … be more authentic to who she is. That’s what our show is about and in some small way that’s what we’re accomplishing in the world and helping that come along,” said Duplass.
Actress Melora Hardin said that she’d love to see Caitlyn on the show, and said that they “should try” to make that happen.
According to People Magazine , Tambor also praised Caitlyn Jenner, saying that her transition and her bravery is a “big jump forward” for the transgender community. Bringing recognition and awareness is very important, and Tambor is thrilled to see Caitlyn doing this.
“Any light will do. Light on the subject. Light, and love, and warmth really, and that’s what’s happening,” he said.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Transparent won the Golden Globe for Best Series, Musical, or Comedy this year. The show’s creator, Jill Soloway, dedicated the award to Leelah Alcorn, a transgender teen who committed suicide after not getting the acceptance that she needed from her parents. She stepped in front of a truck to end her life back in December.
