Even though it looks like Bryan Cranston still has the TV deal with Sony, he may be scoring a new role when AMC’s Breaking Bad is all said and done.
With Warner Bros’ announcement at Comic Con clear that they were pushing the Man of Steel sequel, in the last few weeks we’ve been reporting about what actor will embody the role that goes head to head with Henry Cavill’s Superman.
It’s believed that production on the Superman Vs Batman film is revving up, with meetings being set up with everyone from Ryan Gosling to Jeffrey Dean Morgan to play Batman.
Now it’s believed that production is looking for their villain in Lex Luther, and there’s a very promising actor on their list. It’s rumored that production has led to the man who knocks, Bryan Cranston, to see if he’s got what it takes to fulfill the role of Lex Luther.
Latino Review’s scoop El Mayimbe has been tweeting up a storm about Bryan Cranston being up for the role of Lex Luther. That said, Cranston has a great relationship with Warner Bros. as he’s already been featured in several of their films.
Aside from the business aspect of his inclusion it just seems like Bryan Cranston is a brilliant choice. We know he can be intimidating and sinister from his work on Breaking Bad. More importantly we know that he can portray a multidimensional character that we can sympathize with, which is important if Warner Bros. wants a fully realized character in their villain.
Cranston isn’t the only contender for the Lex Luther role. Mark Strong, who’s known to play the movie villain in many roles, is also up for the role of Lex Luther. According to Digital Spy , his name has been in the mix for quite some time. On Sunday he told the site, “All I can say is, watch this space.”
