Brooks Ayers called out his Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars for their allegations of his cancer possibly being fake during a September 22 interview with Entertainment Tonight . After traveling to New York City from his new home in Florida, Brooks Ayers spoke of his co-stars’ doubts about his health.
“Most of the women are making on the minor stuff in my opinion, and so yeah, there’s gonna be some questions being asked, but the challenge for me — if you’ve got questions, come to me directly. Don’t talk behind my back, don’t assume and try to put the pieces together.”
Brooks Ayers claimed that while his co-stars have been vocal all season long on The Real Housewives of Orange County , they’ve only spoken to him directly about their doubts in his diagnosis and treatment once.
In addition to Tamra Barney and Meghan King Edmonds’ questions in his cancer, Heather Dubrow encouraged Vicki Gunvalson, Brooks Ayers’ former girlfriend, to make sure she saw proof of the diagnosis. However, Brooks Ayers doesn’t hold a grudge against Dubrow, or her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, for her comments, In fact, Brooks Ayers counted the Dubrows as the most understanding of all of his Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars.
“I think they’re smart enough, savvy enough to understand they don’t know all the details. While they may have some questions and concerns, each and every time they’ve specifically asked me anything on or off camera, I’ve answered them.”
Meanwhile, Brooks Ayers said Gunvalson’s one-time close friend, Shannon Beador, and her husband, David, “started being nice supporters,” but eventually changed their tune. As fans saw during Season 10, Beador arranged for Brooks Ayers to meet with a doctor she knew of, but when he declined to do so, she got “all upset and bent out of shape.” Although Beador’s gesture was certainly a nice thing for her to do, Brooks Ayers said he was already working with “world renowned class facilities,” and didn’t feel it was necessary at the time.
Brooks Ayers went on to reveal that while many of his co-stars claimed their questions regarding his cancer and treatment stemmed from their concern for his health, not one of them reached out once cameras stopped rolling.
“It’s interesting to note that none of the women since we’ve gotten through filming in May have reached out to me asking how am I doing. How are my numbers going. If they really sincerely cared about me as an individual and my family, then wouldn’t you think they would reach out off camera?”
