Fans who have been waiting for Britney Spears album are going to be upset with the news that just came out. According to Spears, releasing an album isn’t in the cards for the immediate future.
While Spears didn’t rule anything out, she told Billboard magazine , “I’m gonna do [a new album] slowly but surely.”

Until then, her children and her show are both her number one priority.
“There’s a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I’m gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it’s not my full priority right now.”
Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph explained why a Britney Spears album isn’t important at this moment in time. “We’re not really talking seriously about a new album yet. Albums just aren’t as important in the digital age as they used to be. Britney will get to one eventually, but not right now.” Instead, Spears will focus on “putting out a few great singles as they come.”

Rudolph does make an excellent point. With the rise of digital purchases, fans simply aren’t buying full albums. With platforms like iTunes allowing listeners to pick and choose between songs, and the general immediacy of the listening experience, albums aren’t as sacred to music listeners as they once were.
As for work, Spears is plenty busy. Right now she’s in the middle of her Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood. When she isn’t performing, she’s spending time with not only her children, but with her new boyfriend Charlie Ebersol.
Of her time with Ebersol, Spears told Billboard , “Oh, he loves it. He comes every weekend, even though he’s flying all over the place. It’s always really nice when he comes. The kids love to see him. It’s great.”
She continued, “I feel like our passion for life is pretty much on the same page.”
As for her children, they visit Spears every other weekend in a pretty spacious condo. “It’s really big, kind of like a big condo. It’s four bedrooms. We have a yard, it’s really nice.”
