Briana Culberson is seen meeting with Tamra Barney during a sneak peek at The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10. On next week’s episode, the two women sit down to discuss Briana Culbertson’s mother’s boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, who claims to be suffering from stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Throughout Season 10, speculation into Ayers’ diagnosis has been a hot topic for Vicki Gunvalson, Briana Culberson’s mother, and her co-stars, and recently, despite the reveal of his medical records, Ayers was accused of faking his diagnosis. His co-star, Meghan King Edmonds, even claimed to her co-stars that she believed Ayers had “forged” his cancer documents.
Prior to the cancer announcement, Briana Culberson had her doubts about Ayers. According to her, she wasn’t so sure he had her mother’s best interest at heart. Briana Culberson also questioned Ayers’ intentions for her mother. Still, Briana Culberson’s mother’s relationship with Ayers continued, and eventually, the pair moved in together before splitting in August of this year after four years of on-again, off-again dating.
During their relationship, as fans saw on the show, Briana Culberson was at odds with her mother during a trip to Orange County from Briana Culberson’s new home in Oklahoma, where she lives with husband Ryan and their two sons. While discussing where she would stay, Briana Culberson revealed she would not be staying in the home of Gunvalson while in town due to Ayers being on the premises.

Although Briana Culberson made it seem as if she was not open to the idea of staying with her mother, even after being informed he would not be there at the time, she eventually decided to do just that, as is seen in the latest sneak peek clip.
While meeting with Barney, a longtime friend of her mother, in the September 29 Bravo clip, Briana Culberson confirms she’s staying with her mother, but reveals it feels odd to be back. Briana Culberson is then told by Barney that her mother, Gunvalson, requested Barney meet with her to discuss her relationship with Ayers. In the past, both Briana Culberson and Barney have had their “suspicious” about Ayers, but in the years since, Barney and Ayers appeared to make amends — at least before the “fake cancer” allegations began swirling.
During their chat, Barney is shocked to discover Briana Culberson’s grandmother wasn’t okay with Ayers being in Gunvalson’s life. According to Barney, Gunvalson made it seem as if she was, but Briana Culberson quickly shoots down the idea entirely, and goes on to reveal she will never approve of Ayers.
“There is absolutely nothing Brooks can do for me to accept him, or to move past anything, or to forget anything, or to forgive anything, because he has proven his character and all I care about is my mom,” Briana Culberson explains during her confessional.
After hearing Briana Culberson’s claims about her grandmother’s feelings about Ayers, Barney tells cameras, “I think Vicki is delusional. I’m confused and I have mixed feelings. There’s a part of me that wants to support her, and there’s a part of me that wants to re-question her… and I’m just… I don’t know what to do.”
