Brad Pitt loves that his Chanel No. 5 commercial has gained so much attention thanks to parodies that poke fun at his ad spot.
The Chanel No. 5 commercial has been critically panned, and that has led to various parodies. The most popular humor spot for the commercial and the most well known arrived with the help of Saturday Night Live staff.
Speaking about the original commercial spot, Pitt tells Access Hollywood:
“I kind of liked it. I respect what [Chanel does]. They do some really quality things.”
However, the A-list actor admits that perhaps the parodies are deserved:
“I haven’t [seen the parodies] … but I say absolutely fair play.”
Pitt then jokes about not seeing the parodies, noting:
“I’ve been overseas, so I’ve been blissfully protected.”
Pitt did say he would love to see the SNL spoofs which star Taran Killam as Pitt, and he plans to watch them when he isn’t so busy.
It’s nice to know that one of Hollywood’s biggest leading men can so easily poke fun at himself. Hopefully he still feels that way after he sees the SNL skit.
Pitt’s positive attitude is not just confined to his reaction on the Chanel No. 5 parody, as the leading man has also been forced to confront an old adversary for a new role — smoking. But while Pitt had to re-take up the bad habit to get into character, he isn’t all cranky about it either.
Speaking of his newfound old habit, Brad laments :
“[I’ve quit] several times, I’m really good at it … It’s great, it’s great [having to smoke again.] But you have to know that you’re going to have to quit on the other end and that that ugly day is coming, so you over enjoy it I guess.”
