A bolt fell during a football game, injuring three people at Lucas Oil Stadium as the Colts played.
Shortly before halftime, a bolt came loose from the retractable roof, landing in Section 248, hitting two men and a woman , Barney Levengood, the executive director of the Indiana Convention Center’s Capital Improvement Board of Managers said, according to the Associated Press .
“A bolt from the fixed structure sheared and dropped into seating section 248,” said Levengood in a statement. “The movement of the roof was stopped immediately and stadium authorities were notified.”
Robert Fickle, 44, a Colts fan from Cincinnati, said he heard a loud pop, and then saw something hit a woman sitting near him.

“I heard a large pop overhead,” Fickle recalled, describing the bolt as being the size of a half-roll of quarters.
“My sister is in section above the woman,” Chris Bavender, communications director at the Indianapolis Department of Public Safety, tweeted to the Indianapolis Star , according to Sportact.net . “Said it was large bolt that fell — (medical personnel) leading (the woman) down (with a) cloth to her head.”

Emergency medical personnel immediately responded, bringing a stretcher into the stadium. The woman and one of the men were transported to a nearby hospital, while the other man was treated on site.
“One female and one male were attended to by IU Health medical personnel and then transported to a local hospital for further evaluation,” said Levengood. “The third person was a male who was treated and released on site.”
This isn’t the first time fans have sustained injuries at the Lucas Oil Stadium. In 2013, a railing collapsed in section 148 as several fans were leaning against it, sending two men into a tunnel near the field. It just so happens that this is the same corner of the stadium where the bolt fell.
