Birdman has already won three awards the night before the 2015 Oscar winners are announced. Do you think this is possibly a forecast for today’s event?
Last night, the Independent Spirit Awards cast its ballots, and Birdman was one of the fortunate, multi-awarded movies to make it through the night.

One award Birdman took home was Best Feature. This also happens to be one of the Oscar nominations of today.

Another award from the Spirit Awards for Birdman was Best Male Lead. Likewise, this is another Oscar nomination, as Best Lead Actor.

The third Birdman award of the night was for Best Cinematography. Similarly again, this is another 2015 Oscar nomination.

As can be seen from the Internet Movie Database , the source says that the ingenious cinematography was “edited to look like one continuous shot.” In the same section, it adds a tidbit about unnoticed outtakes as follows.
“Given the unusual style of filming long takes, Edward Norton and Michael Keaton kept a running tally of flubs made by the actors. Emma Stone made the most mistakes; Zach Galifianakis made the fewest.”
Fans and viewers alike say the movie is incredible. Many of them have taken to Twitter about Birdman and how they enjoyed the experience.

In case you haven’t seen it and don’t know the storyline, according to IMDb, Birdman’s summary reads as follows.
“Riggan Thomson is an actor who played the famous and iconic superhero, ‘Birdman’, over 20 years ago. Now, in his middle-age, he is directing his debut on Broadway, a drama called ‘What We Talk About When We Talk About Love’, an adaptation from a Raymond Carver story.
With the help of his assistant and daughter Sam, and his producer Jake, he will play out the show previews, even when a talented actor he hired on, Mike Shiner act arbitrarily, the internal issues between him and the other casts, his useless maximum efforts to critics, and the unexpected voices of his old character- the Birdman, pushing his sanity until the first debut show.”
