Bill Gates is so busy with his philanthropic organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, that he had no idea Beyonce name dropped him in her new single “Formation” – that is, until a co-worker pointed it out to him. Beyonce released the controversial single as a surprise during the Super Bowl this year, but clearly Bill wasn’t watching that either and was shocked to learn the singer mentioned him during the famous halftime show!
In an interview with Wired about the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gates was asked how he felt about being part of the lyrics of “Formation,” and Bill revealed his surprise at how famous he has become. Gates, one of the wealthiest people in the world with a roughly $75 billion fortune , confessed that he “hadn’t realized that [Beyonce] did that until somebody in the office actually sent me a copy of the lyrics.”

In the song, Beyonce name drops Bill Gates not once, but twice, singing “You might just be a black Bill Gates in the making / I might just be a black Bill Gates in the making.”
Calling the lyrics “a strange set of words here,” Gates asked the co-worker if he was serious that Beyonce mentioned him by name and said he was “surprised.”
Bill obviously did not watch the Super Bowl, adding, “I’m not sure she said those words at the Super Bowl, though, did she?”
Yes, Bill, Beyonce did.
In response, Gates said in the Wired interview that “I guess it’s nice that people consider me successful,” but despite his fame, Bill revealed he as not yet met Beyonce. He has collaborated with the “Formation” singer’s husband, Jay Z, recalling that “ when I did some humor right when I was retiring from Microsoft ,” Jay Z “was nice about participating in that, and did a great job on that.”

As an afterthought about the Beyonce song, Bill suggested in the interview that perhaps it was time to “do a Bing search and see if there are more uses of my name that I don’t know about.”
Beyonce herself was named dropped in a now-viral video by an app user named Jen, an Atlanta native who decided to have fun with a Starbucks barista. Jen, who goes by the name JEWISHJEN on Vine, reveals in the viral video that, as a cute joke, she ordered her coffee, and when asked her name, Jen, who is a big Beyonce fan, told the Starbucks employee that her name was the same as the famous singer.
“Being the only person in line, I figured it was my moment to be all I can BE(yonce),” Jen revealed to Mashable via email.

But why Beyonce? According to Jen, “Beyonce was the first name that came to mind because she never leaves anyone’s mind,” since everyone wants to be Beyonce , including “Me. You. Michelle Williams.” After getting her coffee, Jen got a surprise. Instead of “Beyonce” written on the cup, the barista wrote, “U Wish” with a black permanent marker. Although Jen admits the barista probably knew she was messing with her, she now has the famous video and cup as a souvenir of the hilarious event.
Meanwhile, although Beyonce has dropped a new single, there’s no word when a whole new album will be released. Fans speculated Beyonce would drop the album at the Super Bowl halftime show, but were disappointed. There was also speculation Beyonce would reveal at Super Bowl 50 that she is pregnant with baby number two, since she has been rumored to be pregnant for well over a year at this point.
