Beatrice Borromeo’s wedding took place in Italy this weekend, just one week after she and groom Pierre Casiraghi were married in a civil ceremony at Monaco’s Grimaldi Palace. According to People Magazine , Borromeo and Casiraghi had a religious wedding ceremony in Italy on Saturday. After hosting a cocktail party on Friday night, the newlyweds went for wedding round two at Borromeo’s family’s castle (yes, castle ) on Italy’s Lake Maggiore.
This wedding location is a tradition in the Borromeo family.
“As with the weddings of her other direct family members (including half-sisters Lavinia and Isabella), the daughter of Count Carlo Ferdinando Borromeo and Countess Paola Marzotto exchanged religious vows on one of the Italian aristocratic family’s Borromean Islands (an archipelago of three small islands and two islets in Lake Maggiore,” reports People Magazine .
Beatrice Borromeo’s wedding was filled with royal family members. Everyone was dressed to the nines, but no one looked more stunning than the bride herself. After wearing two different Valentino Haute Couture gowns last week, Borromeo went for a different look in Italy, wearing what Mail Online calls a “ Grecian wedding gown .”
“After the ceremony, the wedding party moved on to a reception held at Rocca di Borromeo di Angera – Borromeo Castle – a medieval fortress overlooking Lake Maggiore. The stunning bride, wearing a white Grecian wedding gown, was pictured being helped on to a boat by her husband Pierre Casiraghi. The newlyweds led the way to the reception at Borromeo Castle with the party of high-profile guests not far behind.”
The dress was one of two Borromeo, 29, wore on Saturday, both designed by Giorgio Armani.

The Beatrice Borromeo wedding that took place this weekend was considered more “formal” than last week’s civil ceremony. While last week was considered more intimate (only about 70 guests were in attendance), this week’s celebration extended out to more distant family members and friends, and lots of powerful bloodlines coming from all different countries including Greece and Russia. Celebrities (like Lana Del Rey) were also in attendance.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Beatrice met Pierre , 27, in 2008 when the two were attending the same school in Italy. Thousands of people have enjoyed looking at pictures from these two royal weddings, and hearing all about the festivities.
