Since press screenings earlier this week and hitting cinemas late on Thursday, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been critically savaged, resulting in it achieving the lowly rating of just 30 percent on Rotten Tomatoes .
But that clearly hasn’t damaged or dampened audiences’ fervor to see the blockbuster, which was released in a number of territories across the world over the course of the last few days.
In fact, according to Forbes , since being released on Wednesday, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has already grossed $219.91 million across the world, having been released on over 30,000 screens in more than 60 markets.

Internationally, the film has already made $137.9 million, having been released in China, Japan, and the United Kingdom, as well as 14 further territories, while it has also made $82.01 million in America, too.
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has also fared rather well in China, raking in $43 million over two days, including $21.22 million in its first day, which is the sixth biggest opening for a Hollywood film.
Domestically, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is tracking to open at around $175 million, with moviegoers seemingly not put off by the fact that critics have torn apart the blockbuster.
It’s currently being speculated that Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will gross around $350 million in its opening weekend, which would put it around the amount made by Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides back in 2011.
However, it’s unlikely to get close to Iron Man 3 ‘s $372 million, Spider-Man 3 ‘s $381 million, and Transformers: Dark Of The Moon ‘s $382 million. Warner Bros. will still be very happy with Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice ‘s box office haul though, especially because of the negative critical reaction to Zack Snyder’s superhero hybrid.
It’s believed that Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice cost Warner Bros. around $250 million to produce, while it’s believed that they’ve spent somewhere between $100 to $150 million on marketing for the film.
What’s pretty much a certainty is that Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will move ahead of The Dark Knight Rises ‘ opening box office haul of $248.8 million, which was grossed back in 2012 and is currently the highest amount amassed by either a Batman or Superman film.
Man Of Steel , the predecessor to Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice that was an origin story for Henry Cavill’s Superman, took in $201 million back in 2013, before going on to gross $668 million across the world.
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice ‘s critical response has been very mixed. With just a 30 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes , the website has surmised, “ Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice smothers a potentially powerful story — and some of America’s most iconic superheroes — in a grim whirlwind of effects-driven action.”
Starring Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent and marking the debut of Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice brings two of the most iconic characters in the history of pop culture for the first time in a live-action film.

The blockbuster sees Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor manipulating Batman into a battle with Superman, which then results in the multi-billionaire creating the evil behemoth known as Doomsday to tackle the two superheroes.
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and the expansion of the DC Cinematic Universe will now be followed by Suicide Squad , Wonder Woman , Justice League Part One , The Flash , Aquaman , Shazam , Justice League Part Two , Cyborg , and Green Lantern Corps, while it’s also believed that a solo Batman film and a Man Of Steel sequel are in development.
