Barbara Walters isn’t having a good year. The host of The View, who was hospitalized earlier this month after hitting her head at a party , has been diagnosed with a bad case of the Chicken Pox.

Whoopi Goldberg broke the news this morning on The View.

Whoopi said :

“We want to give you an update on Barbara … You all know that she fell and cut her head 10 days ago, and then was running a temperature, but it turns out it is all the result of a delayed childhood. Barbara has the chicken pox. She’d never had it as a child. So now she’s been told to rest, she’s not allowed any visitors. and we’re telling you, Barbara, no scratching … We love you. We miss you. We just don’t want to hug you.”

Goldberg said that Walters was transferred to a hospital in New York and expects to go home soon.

The chicken pox is typically seen in young children and isn’t considered to be life threatening. It can be dangerous, however, when older people catch the disease.

According to Yahoo News , chicken pox can cause problems with older people because it may create additional complications like pneumonia.

Walters isn’t the only celebrity to be hospitalized recently. Burt Reynolds spent the weekend in the ICU after battling the flu .
