Balloons On @RealDonaldTrump Twitter Page For President’s 71st Birthday

Those Twitter users who aren’t among those blocked by President Donald Trump , as reported by the Inquisitr , noticed something new on the @RealDonaldTrump Twitter page on Wednesday, June 14. As seen in the below screenshot from the @RealDonaldTrump Twitter page, colorful balloons streamed up President Trump’s Twitter feed to celebrate his birthday. Red balloons, yellow balloons, blue balloons, green balloons, and purple balloons streamed up the Twitter page prior to disappearing.

Indeed, President Trump was born on June 14, 1946, therefore, 71 years after being born at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Mr. Trump now sits as the oldest President of the U.S., usurping former President Ronald Reagan’s age by mere months when he led the country during his term. Mr. Regan was born on February 6, 1911, and served as the 40th President of the U.S. from 1981 to 1989, making him 70 years of age when he took office.

President Trump’s balloons on Twitter were a reminder of his birthday during an ominous day, as Mr. Trump responded on Twitter to the shootings in Virginia. President Trump called Steve Scalise a “true friend and patriot” on Twitter. House Majority Whip Scalise and Roger Williams were shot, along with several congressional aides and Capitol Police officers, according to Fox News .

The reaction to the Twitter birthday balloons displayed on Twitter show Twitter users claiming that President Trump should turn off the balloon function on Twitter when tweeting about a member of Congress being shot. Others note that it was initially hard to read what Mr. Trump wrote on his @RealDonaldTrump Twitter account about the Virginia shootings as the balloons floated upwards on his page.

According to the Independent , Twitter introduced the balloon animation in 2015. However, a search of Twitter’s support page doesn’t offer much information about turning on or off the balloon animation as desired. Twitter’s process for verification of official and verified Twitter accounts does prove that it’s necessary to add a date of birth to Twitter pages that desire to be verified with a blue checkmark, even though Twitter offers options for controlling which Twitter users actually see the birth date.

“You can customize your Twitter profile by adding your birthday. You can control who on Twitter can see your birthday on your profile by using your birthday visibility settings.”
