Ashlee Simpson is single again after splitting from boyfriend Vincent Piazza.
The actress-cum-singer and Boardwalk Empire star Piazza ended their 18-month relationship last week due to their work commitments, with both saying their schedules kept them apart.
A source told The New York Post :
“Vincent has been working a lot, so he hasn’t been able to spend as much time with Ashlee, which has caused some problems. It was a mutual agreement to split, but things have been bumpy for a little while, so perhaps they might reconcile.”
Ashlee Simpson and Vincent Piazza began dating last June, soon after Simpson had split from husband Pete Wentz, with whom she has a four-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli.
Piazza recently spoke about their relationship, and revealed how both he and Simpson were homebodies who preferred a night on the sofa:
“I’m a real low profile guy. So a date night for me is kind of curled up at home and watching something… have a nice glass of wine, a nice meal and we’re all set.”
This isn’t the only break-up in the Simpson family lately: last month, Ashlee’s parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, announced they were to divorce after 34 years of marriage. Ashlee Simpson has since said she would continue to support both of her parents through the ordeal.
Fortunately, Ashlee’s sis Jessica seems in a somewhat happier place: she recently tweeted photos of her fiancé Eric Johnson and their baby Maxwell over Thanksgiving.
