Just days before their scheduled nuptials, the happy couple celebrated the birthday of the groom-to-be with lobsters, filets and Macallan Scotch and Cokes at STK Downtown in New York . The hot topic at the birthday bash was predictably the upcoming wedding of Ashlee Simpson to Evan Ross , reported People .
Ashlee Simpson is the sister of singer and fashion mogul Jessica Simpson. The younger Simpson has been married once before. Her ex-husband is Fall Out Boy bassist and songwriter Pete Wentz, whom she began dating in 2006. By 2008, she was sporting a promise ring from the musician. Shortly thereafter, the couple confirmed their engagement and married one month later. Two weeks after the wedding, the pair announced that they were expecting a child. By 2011, the relationship was over. Simpson filed for divorce in February and was finalized in November.
Evan Ross is the son of Diana Ross. His birth name is Evan Olav Næss, but he uses the surname Ross professionally. Ross’s father is Arne Næss, Jr, a businessman and mountaineer. The Connecticut-born singer celebrated his 26th birthday August 26, 2014. Ross and Simpson began dating just over one year ago in July 2013. Ross also works as an actor, and will portray Messalla in the upcoming flicks The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2 , which are certain to be a success.
According to Yahoo! , the weekend wedding will be held at the Connecticut home of the groom’s famous mother, Diana Ross. It will not be a lavish affair. The small wedding will have only close friends and family members in attendance.
According to Who Dated Who?, Evan Ross has been rumored to romance a long list of hot celebrities from Hayden Panettiere, Lindsay Lohan and Brittany Snow to Rita Ora. He also dated Aubrey O’Day and Cora Skinner. This will be the first marriage for the son of the founding member and lead singer of The Supremes.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross were not afraid to shower each other with public displays of affection at the party of Ryan Cabrera, one of her ex-boyfriends. The couple reportedly canoodled while talking with friends at the party, and it was clear that Ashlee wasn’t harboring any romantic feelings for Cabrera.
