48 hours has passed since Apple announced their music social network Ping and already over 1 million users have joined up for the new experience after downloading iTunes 10.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of Internet Services says:

“One-third of the people who have downloaded iTunes 10 have joined Ping,” while adding “As many more people download iTunes 10 in the coming weeks, we expect the Ping community to continue growing.”

The sheer number of new users to the network is impressive, however Apple has been plagued with spam problems and a Facebook Connect integration issue at this point and they are only two days in.

While some analysts have hailed Ping as the next big step forward in social networking, other analysts and everyday users have had mixed reviews at best.

What do you think about Ping and the potential it offers to internet users as a whole.
