Apple’s new Apple Watch now has a release date, along with a lot more confirmed. The news broke at the Spring Forward event, which included the name for the new device.

Many expected the new watch to be called the iWatch, following on from the iPad and the iPhone. However, the tech giant has decided to go with the Apple Watch instead. That does not make it any less popular, as people have now found out just what this gadget will do.

Macworld confirmed that the new MacBook was announced at the same time as the iWatch. This is not a redesigned MacBook Air, but a brand new product from the company. It is 24 percent thinner than the Air, and weighs just two pounds. It also has the Force Touch track pad for more reactivity.

However, it was the iWatch that stole the show. This was the device that everyone has been waiting for since Samsung released the Galaxy Gear last year. While some features mentioned in September we recapped, Apple had new information to share. One of those was the 18-hour battery life that the iWatch will have.

There will be three different collections, with two different sizes available. Engadget shared the U.S. prices as between $349 and $399 for the Sport collection and between $549 and $1,049 for the regular edition. Now is the time for people to start saving if they want the top level of craftsmanship and many more designs to choose between. The Watch Edition of the highly anticipated iWatch will be available from April 10, but it is for those with deep pockets. It will cost $10,000 just to start.

The iWatch will all come in space black stainless steel and stainless steel cases, and are all protected with sapphire crystal. There are designs for men and women, with a steel link bracelet version available or three different types of leather straps.

April 10 is given as the date all the other models will be available for pre-ordering. General release for the versions will be April 24. Apple’s iWatch will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, German, China, Japan and Hong Kong to start. More countries will follow with a release, but these dates have not yet been confirmed.

There is a downside to the new Apple iWatch. It will only work with the iPhone, similar to the way the Galaxy Gear works with Samsung phones. The iWatch is compatible with the iPhone 5 model and up.
