Apparently, the young man in this clip which went viral overnight Monday is Noah Ritter, a five-year-old from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, who grabbed the microphone during a local TV station’s otherwise routine coverage of a county fair, and promptly delivered a stream-of-consciousness monologue as only a five-year-old can.

And when the video suddenly took over the internet, Noah immediately became known as “The Apparently Kid,” in honor of what apparently is his great fondness for the adverb “apparently.”

And apparently, Noah has become an instant internet meme as well. Actually, this one combines two memes. There’s the Noah Ritter “apparently” meme, and of course, the Liam Neeson “thumbs up” meme.

Sofia Ojeda of WNEP-TV was in the middle of covering the Wayne County Fair in Pennsylvania, or doing her best to cover it, when she had the stroke of either genius or luck which told her to hand the microphone to this precocious little redhead.

“Apparently I’ve never been on live television before, but apparently sometimes I don’t watch the news because I’m a kid,” Noah explained .

He then embarked on a monologue in which he told Ojeda and, as it turned out, the world that his grandpa really enjoys watching the Powerball drawing on TV, and the rides at the fair make him dizzy. Apparently. As well as numerous other morsels of information.

The WNEP YouTube video of Noah’s interview has already been viewed almost 650,000 times in its first 24 hours on line.

Eventually, his grandfather gently cuts off the “interview,” but Noah gets the mic back and starts right back in.

Apparently, this kid would have a terrific future in TV broadcasting, but according to Noah, that’s not what he wants to do when he grows up.

Apparently, Noah Ritter aspires to become a paleontologist.
