One father was completely outraged to learn that his son’s teacher denied him breakfast at school. According to ABC News , Luis Valdivia’s 10-year-old son was denied “Second Chance Breakfast” after missing the first servings. Apparently, the program was put in place to make sure students who missed breakfast still had a chance to eat.

However, his teacher reportedly told him “no” as a form of punishment because he had not completed his work. Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time this has happened. So he decided on a clever way to take matters into his own hands. Valdivia confronted the Hilltop Drive Elementary teacher on camera. She admitted to her actions. However, she also stated that she was not aware that not letting the boy eat was a violation of the law.

Here’s a short excerpt of the heated confrontation that took place between Valdivia and the teacher.

“So you’re calling my son a liar regarding Monday?” he asked.

“Monday, I did not let him eat,” the teacher responded.

“Are you aware that you broke the law? Are you aware of that?” Valdivia asked.

“I was not aware of that,” she responded.

A representative for the Chula Vista Elementary School District released a statement in reference to the situation, which reportedly happened on Monday, December 8 . The district reportedly cited a stipulation arguing the father’s law violating allegations. Since the “Second Chance Breakfast” program is “not a mandated meal break,” technically the teacher didn’t break any laws. That particular meal is just an opportunity which gives students a chance to eat simply because they missed out. So, it’s not an official meal.

However, the matter will be further investigated.

Do you feel the teacher should be reprimanded for her actions? Share your thoughts.
