An Android app developer who goes by the name Jonatthias has responded to Apple’s Move to iOS app. Jonatthias published his own app on the Google Play store called Stick with Android. The app, which can be downloaded for free, has only one option. Once the app is launched, a green screen with a button that says “Click here to stick with Android.” After the button is pressed, the user is greeted with a congratulatory message.

“Everything about Android is designed to be easy. That includes sticking with it. With just one step, you can keep your content automatically and securely on your Android device with the Stay on Android app. No need to save your stuff elsewhere before staying on Android. The Stay on Android app securely keeps you away from switching to another (worse) platform.”

Although the app serves no real purpose, that hasn’t stopped it from being downloaded and reviewed by a few thousand people. Most users who’ve used the app seem to appreciate it. Of the 5,119 user reviews of Stick with Android, 4,964 were 5-star reviews.

Most of the reviews were similar to the one below. Users praised the app and Android, while bashing Apple.

“Wow Talk about life-changing! I didn’t know who I was before this app. Believe it or not, I DO have Android, and this will help me ‘stick’ with my current OS. Thanks Dev!”

As 9to5Google notes, the app is available on any Android device running 4.0.3 or later.

Jonatthias’ app is a direct response to the first Android app made by Apple. Apple recently released the Move to iOS app on the Google Play store to help Android users migrate their phone’s data to an iPhone. The app wirelessly syncs contacts, messages, and other information from an Android to an iPhone. The company’s decision to release their Move to iOS app has been met with quite a bit of hostility from Android fans.

While Android fans may not like the idea of Move to iOS, the reviews of the app have been pretty positive. Macworld reviewed Apple’s transfer client and had some pretty good things to say about it. The article said the app made the transfer process relatively painless.

User reviews for Stick with Android are far better than those for Move to iOS. Move to iOS had 1.7/5 rating, while Stick with Android had a 4.9/5 rating.
