That Amy Schumer – Jennifer Lawrence vacation that took place last week seemed like a miraculous partnership destined to be, but it seems magic forces had little to do with it. It seems the public and media weren’t the only ones to think Amy and Jennifer would make an awesome friendship, because, according to Ms. Schumer, she and Jennifer had been developing a bond before that vacation took place.
As Amy tells it, the vacation had already been planned, something Schumer and her gal pals do every year, and Ms. Lawrence crashed the get-together as only Jennifer can do.
“So we go to the Hamptons, and Jennifer and I have become friends,” Schumer said . “And I was like, ‘Oh, we’re going on a boat tomorrow, you should come.’ It was kind of hypothetical, and she was like, ‘I think I’m coming,’ and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’”
So far, so good, but Amy reveals that her friends, not the every day Hollywood socialites that might take such news with mild enthusiasm, reacted as most of us would upon learning that an Oscar winner would be joining us on our vacation.
“I filmed a video of me telling my friends—and they’re like nurses and teachers—that Jennifer Lawrence is coming on a boat with us tomorrow,” Schumer said. “So they’re all screaming.”
Anyone familiar with Jennifer Lawrence and her appearances at awards shows and Comic Cons in particular know that Ms. Lawrence adjusts to every situation with relative ease and good humor, so it should be no surprise that Jennifer became a welcome part of the group in no time.
“She’s the coolest chick you’ll ever meet,” Schumer said . “She’s the best hang, she was like one of the gang.”
Amy said that the vacation was filled with activities. She and Ms. Lawrence took out a jet ski together, which Amy volunteered to pilot.
“I said, ‘I’ll drive, I’ve got this.’ And she was like, no, Hunger Games .”
Ms. Schumer revealed that taking photos with her new bestie was just a little demoralizing.
“In all the pictures I took of her, I look like her coach,” Schumer quipped. “I look like I’m telling her to take a knee.”
Amy Schumer can currently be seen in the Judd Apatow romantic comedy Trainwreck .
Jennifer Lawrence will be reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen for the last time, when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 premieres on November 20 in theaters.
