Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence are writing a movie together.
Yes, the goofy star of The Hunger Games and the funny star of Trainwreck are now besties and are pairing up to pen a sister comedy film.
Lawrence described how it all went down in an interview with the New York Times to promote the final Hunger Games movie .
So, what is the best way to break the ice with someone you admire, but don’t yet know? Tell them you love them, of course. Which is exactly what Jennifer did after she saw Schumer’s star turn in Trainwreck .
“I emailed her and said, ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you. We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting. We really hit it off, to say the least.”
And then Schumer took their BFF status to the next level, a story she told on Jon Stewart’s final Daily Show broadcast .
“So [some high school friends and I] go to the Hamptons, and Jennifer and I have become friends. And I was like, ‘Oh, we’re going on a boat tomorrow, you should come.’ It was kind of hypothetical, and she was like, ‘I think I’m coming,’ and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’”

Some might worry about trying to mix an Oscar-winning star with their “normal” friends but not Amy.
“[Jennifer’s] the coolest chick you’ll ever meet. She’s the best hang, she was like one of the gang.”
It also seems like maybe the idea of Schumer and Lawrence doing a movie together might have come from Stewart during a comment he made on one of the vacation pics Schumer posted to her Instagram.

“That’s your next movie poster. Tell me that’s not a cop movie.”
Not many details on the script yet, but Lawrence did let one thing slip.
“We play sisters. We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.”
Apparently they’re so close to typing “The End” that Lawrence is making plans to catch a flight to Chicago so she, Schumer, and Amy’s sister, Kim, can wrap it up face-to-face. But it also could be that the process of working together is too much fun to pass up.

“Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up.”
It will be exciting to see what Lawrence will do with a part that comes from a mixture of her and Schumer’s voices, to see Amy’s follow-up to Trainwreck and to see if the team of goofy and funny will create something truly hilarious. (Hopefully it won’t be a cop movie).
