The latest promotional picture for Season 6 of AMC’s The Walking Dead shows potential discord between two characters, something that was foreshadowed in the recent trailer for Season 6 released at San Diego Comic-Con. Just how serious will it get between Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan (Lennie James)?

In the Season 5 finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead , the much anticipated reunion between Rick Grimes and Morgan occurred. Except, it was nothing like fans were anticipating. Morgan had become a sort of zombie zen master and Rick, well, he was back in “Crazy Rick” land. How will these two characters interact with each other in Season 6 of The Walking Dead ? If the latest image is anything to go by, not well at all.
The first extended Season 6 trailer , released earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con, also showed scenes where Rick and Morgan appeared to be at loggerheads with each other. But, is that the way it will play out when The Walking Dead returns on October 11?
Perhaps not. After all, AMC is pretty good at splicing together footage for The Walking Dead trailers and making it look like something is going on when it actually isn’t, an observation Cleveland pointed out . Rick and Morgan are both very intense characters, and it could just be a case of a photo taken at just the right time to convey a mood. However, considering Rick and Morgan currently have entirely different viewpoints in relation to dealing with the living, it is also more than likely these two will end up in some sort of conflict.
As Entertainment Weekly pointed out , The Walking Dead showrunner, Scott M. Gimple, freely admitted at San Diego Comic-Con that the events involving Rick in the trailer video are not as straight forward as you might think. Which means this latest image of Rick and Morgan could also be more than what it appears to be.
“We sometimes play with the truth in trailers. Rick is absolutely faced with challenges with way he does things. … Things may not be what they seem.”
The Walking Dead returns to AMC for Season 6 on Sunday, October 11.
