Amanda Seyfried ( Les Miserables, Mamma Mia! ) is joining Russell Crowe ( Les Miserables, Gladiator ) in the drama Fathers And Daughters directed by Gabriele Muccino.
The story centers on a dad and his daughter living 25 years apart and jumps back and forth from the ’80s to present time to relate their story.
Brad Desch is writing the script set in the two time periods and follows Crowe’s character, who suffers from mental illness while trying to raise a five-year-old daughter.
After 25 years, Amanda Seyfried will play the grown daughter trying to deal with her troubled childhood, according to the site Coming Soon
The film will reunite Seyfried and Crowe who starred in the hit musical made for the big screen, Les Miserables in 2012.
The 27-year-old recently starred in the Lovelace biopic as Linda Lovelace, a porn actress known for her role in the extremely successful film Deep Throat . She later became an advocate against the porn industry.
In Les Mis, Amanda Seyfried played Cosette, the orphan of a single mother abandoned by her father.
Academy Award winner Russell Crowe recently starred in Man Of Steel in which he played Jor-El, Superman’s biological father.

He will star in Winter’s Tale, based on the 1983 supernatural drama of the same name, and in the epic biblical saga Noah in which he plays the titular role.
Crowe is also making his directorial debut with the film The Water Diviner , about an Australian father who travels to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli to try and locate his two missing sons.
The posts on his Twitter account indicates the Australian actor/director is scouting locations for his film.
