Alyssa Milano is quitting Mistresses. Although producers have announced that the show will be back for another season, they would be missing out on Savannah Davis and the allure that has driven the show for two seasons now. The actress’ departure from the show was announced on Milano’s own website , where she states that she will no longer be able to reprise her role because the set of her TV drama would be moving from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Canada
“After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada for financial reasons. It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can’t relocate.”
Alyssa, a mom of two, further explained that her duties as a mother was a factor that affected her decision to depart from the TV series.
I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just can not uproot my children and separate the family by moving away. I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best.”
According to Fox News , the producers haven’t issued an official statement regarding Alyssa Milano’s departure. There aren’t also any leads on who will replace Milano’s “Savvi” character on the drama, although fans have their own theories and speculation.
Now that Alyssa is out of a job, fans are wondering if the actress is planning on pursuing other projects in L.A. Some were quick to speculate that her departure from Mistresses would finally give her a chance to work on a Charmed movie. Last year, Milano expressed an interest in doing a movie version for the series. Tweeting to her almost three million followers, Alyssa Milano says she would “definitely do a Charmed movie.”
Alyssa even called upon her old cast members, Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan and Shannen Doherty, asking them if they would take on the challenge. Doherty was the first to respond to Milano, tweeting a resounding “yep” to a Charmed movie.
Sadly, although fans have been dying to see the magic trio play their tricks on the big screen, a Charmed film hasn’t been officially confirmed by Warner Brothers. Alyssa Milano hasn’t been too vocal about her old TV show during the past few months while creator Constance Burge is currently busy writing for Royal Pains .
